Impact statement

Rice: research to production will bring rice research alive and make it a more exciting field so that young people will be attracted to explore it as a possibility for constructive engagement as they think about career and research options. By getting their feet wet in the rice paddies of Asia, participants will get an intimate feeling for the rice plant in its native environment and will appreciate many facets of the crop’s importance throughout the world.

Rice: research to production aims to create a new generation of plant scientists that are well networked into the international community and understand the importance of innovative plant science in addressing global problems.
